Brookhaven is centrally located to the myriad of things that this vibrant town and its environs have to offer.

Golf

The world-renowned Waterville Golf Links course is only a 2 minute drive away as is the newly opened Skellig Bay.

Over 100 years old, Waterville is rated among the top 5 courses in Ireland and the top 20 links courses in the world while Skellig Bay offers a challenging round of golf amidst spectacular scenery, from the miles of stone walls, to the crashing sea waves, to the awesome McGillycuddy Reeks – Ireland’s highest mountain range.

Other courses nearby include Dooks and the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club.

Fishing

Excellent shore fishing is available 3 minutes away in Lough Currane, a lake made world famous for it’s highly prized sea trout with many large fish being caught each season including salmon. 90% of all specimen sea trout are caught in this lake.

Boats and gillies can be arranged for you.

The seasons are: Spring Salmon – March to end of May,
Sea Trout – May to end of September, Bass and Mullet – Good all year round.

Horse riding tours of the area are available locally.

Walking & Trekking

The southwest of Ireland is world renowned for its extensive hillwalking and trekking and the Waterville area is no exception. The possibilities are endless from a stroll along the beach to a days hillwalking on Ireland’s highest mountain range to a multi-day outing along the famous Kerry Way waymarked trail.

Cycling

Along with walking, cycling is a very popular activity in the Waterville area with endless highways and byways to explore.

Watersports.


From canoeing and kayaking to surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing, Kerry’s coast has it all! Join the numerous adventure seekers who travel to this region on an annual basis for some of Ireland’s best watersports.
There are also a number of outdoor recreation and surf schools in the area.

Sightseeing

Apart from the famous Ring of Kerry there are of course a wide range of wonderful sightseeing opportunities in both the local area and wider environs of Waterville. Staigue Fort and Skelling Michael are two of the most well know and best preserved monuments in the country. Access to the Skellig is available from Portmagee or Ballinskelligs.
